The mystery clue in the last paragraph. Yes, we all have our Reasons. Many of your points resonate with me but I doubt I’ll move till the din is deafening.


"Once you can afford a set of decent plates, forks, or tumblers, you should not be hanging onto the old stuff that no-one else wanted: you deserve to set a decent table for yourself."

Unless you have small children. But if that's the case, they'll declutter for you by force.
