After getting the bedroom console-and-big-picture arrangement put together, there was the question of what to put on the consoles. I stayed with two things on each piece for quite a while.
Then I moved a little display box from my nightstand to one of the consoles. And it was good.
So I got a matching box for the other console. What I like about these, particularly, is that a) they are glass and thus see-through and thus add very little visual weight to the overall composition; and b) they allow me to display yet more of our (okay, my) extensive rock collection.

The second box. A carving, some boulder opal, and a group of fossil ammonites (agatized, opalized, and pyritized) above; carvings and a piece of agatized petrified wood below.
