After a hiatus of almost exactly three two* years, I have finally written another L.A. Story.
The main character for this one has been in my head for nearly a year. The shape of the story changed considerably from initial concept to execution. At any rate, I started writing it May 31 and now it is done.
Will give it a bit of a polish and then publish this weekend.
Why three two years?
Well ... there was major surgery, completing the paralegal certificate program, and changing jobs, all in 2015.
Then there was 2016, mostly distinguished by fairly extreme job stress. Apparently, however, I actually did manage to compose, complete, and publish one story. So it wasn't as much of a lost year as I thought.
And 2017, distinguished by notable levels of relocation stress, including the lengthy renovation of Chez Violette.
Apparently now I have processed and/or eliminated enough external stressors that my brain could fully engage its creative gears again.
*once I found my publishing notes I realized that, in fact, "Vintage" was published in 2016. So it is a measure of just how demented I've been over the past 2-3 years that I did not remember that.
*ETA: "The Whole Truth" is available now!
