This is the same style of arbor that we have in front. This one is secured by four anchor bags full of pebbles, with rubber feet on the crosspieces on top.
We used up our supply of window privacy film making a rain canopy for the HVAC. It has, since then, not rained - so this device has not been tested. But it certainly can't hurt.
Greenified with two Yuletide camellias, and three sets of dracaena, very freshly potted.
Edit: we've had some rain and I'm delighted to report that THIS WORKS.
Instead of PLUNK PLUNK PLUNK we got patterpatterpatter ... a much more pleasant sound.
