Following last weekend's competition, Mr. P and I have some revision to do to our choreography, some shopping to do for our costumes, and quite a lot of practice to do. But say HI to the new Amateur Regional Champions in the over-35 American Rhythm division. :-)
What else is cooking? Mr. P is participating in the "Dancing with our Stars" fundraiser for the St. Monica School. The big show is March 8. He's also volunteering to serve as deck captain for the "Dancing Feet" finals at the High Desert Dance Classic. That'll be on March 9 and 10. I, meanwhile, am teaching American Tango for beginners at High Desert.
We may or may not compete in anything there - I am thinking not, except of course the Fun Team Match, because it would be nice to add another set of trophies to our collection (our teams have won three times).
Also coming up, we're performing for a charity event on February 9 and for another fundraiser on February 23. Events like this are a great thing for us; any opportunity to break out the routines (or even to freestyle) in front of an audience helps to improve our performance quality.
On the home front, I have bookkeeping (tax prep!) and gardening to do, plus a lot of photography and editing so I can re-launch the Etsy store, plus some writing and editing to do so I can publish the paperback compilation of novellas 1-3.
As if all that is not enough, I have work to do for USA Dance and a craft project to finish AND a new craft project to stage for the next Estrogen Fest.
Our next competition is likely to be Nationals, April 5-7. We really need to line up some kind of performance opportunity in March. Oh yes, in March I have to get together with a photographer for a Canadian magazine called "Mindful," for which I was interviewed late last year.
At some point in all this, we have to start planning our next couple of vacations. AND, after Nationals, we have to start preparing to have some long-overdue house guests.
I have schemes.
Wahoo!! Congrats on the win.
It sounds like you two are extremely busy these days, and with things that you love. Good on you.
Much hugs!
