Another case of movies on opposite ends of the spectrum (pretty much) but both quite satisfactory.
First: "Colombiana," starring Zoe Saldana. Like Luc Besson's "La Femme Nikita," this film follows an improbably thin and beautiful killer through an action-packed and fairly uncompromising story. And by that I mean bad things happen to people you would rather see come out okay. Fast paced, and in its own way logical, and I really love that Zoe. She was one of the best things about "Avatar" and holds her own here.
Second: "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," starring some fabulous British actors plus Dev Patel and several highly beautiful Indian actors, including one who is a dead ringer for Gilles Marini. It's about a group of variously elderly Britishers who decide on India as a low-cost retirement option. Quite funny, also sexy, sad, and hopeful. If you liked "Enchanted April," you would love this.
