Well, drat.
Mr. P was SO unwell that competing wasn't really an option. So once again, High Desert is over, and we didn't get to dance. This means that I am extremely motivated to prepare for our next outing, the Orange Blossom Ball (www.orangeblossomball.com) .

If you enjoy Dancing with the Stars, if you enjoy social ballroom dancing, and/or if you would rather support DanceSport than, say, wrestling - I encourage you to drive to Riverside on April 3. The Orange Blossom Ball is a very well-run event with little downtime and a wide range of competitions. Last year they had syllabus and open events for all age groups, a spectacular professional show in the evening, and even a little time for general dancing.
Spectator tickets are only $15 for the whole day. A preliminary schedule has now been posted. AND if you want to participate, you can still enter! For those traveling to Riverside the night before, there is even a social dance on Friday 4/2.
I really highly recommend the Orange Blossom Ball for any of the following:
- USA Dance members interested in showcase or competition dancing
- USA Dance board members interested in organizing showcases or competitions
- NDCA competitors interested in polishing routines for the Emerald Ball
- USA Dance competitors interested in polishing routines for the Nationals
- Ballroom enthusiasts who want to support our sport
- Parents or friends of competitors - we respond well to applause and cheering!
- Fans of DWTS who want to see what real DanceSport looks like
Anyway, there you go. We'll be there.
