This is just in the nature of "breaking news" and of interest perhaps only to me, but if anyone out there wants to add their voice to mine ...
PLEASE GET MEL B. TO CO-HOST WITH TOM!!
I was so happy (mean, but happy) to see that Samantha Harris would not be returning to the ballroom this season. I'm sure she's a lovely person, but her backstage "interviews" were painful.
The other three possibilities as a new co-host had generated a "meh" response here. Again, lovely people, and at least two of them were past contestants, but neither of those seemed likely to generate interesting backstage chat.
Mel Brown, however, is the complete package for me. She was a great contestant (arguably, should have won her season); she's beautiful; she's quick-witted; she's got a warped and funny relationship with Tom.
Ms. B is, incidentally, going to be hosting Oxygen's new season of "Dance Your Ass Off." It will be interesting to see what kind of dynamics there are with someone of her beauty and fitness level as a host versus Marissa Jaret Winokur.
Not that ABC is asking us to vote on this, but my vote's for spicy Mel. I would be delighted to watch her every week on DWTS.
