As with every year, I started with a lengthy to-do list and have ended with one just as lengthy. I have managed to accomplish a few things that were very satisfying and/or rewarding, and since year-end is traditionally a time for introspection, herewith, a list.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Spent more time with my best friends.
Started teaching dance after finishing the teacher-training course and passing my first certification exam.
Took two great vacations to spots I had not visited before.
Maintained my personal-training certification with successful completion of coursework including "integrated kinetic chain assessment," "understanding kinetic chain dysfunction," "human movement science," " basic neuromuscular physiology," and "integrated flexibility training" (whee!).
Kept up with my reading to the tune of 10+ books per month.
Pared down my library by a couple of hundred titles.
Found a way to pay cash for my cat's expensive dental work.
Stayed a size 8.
Achieved greater personal proficiency in dance and yoga.
Got creative in the kitchen.
Landed a great new job.
Stayed in closer contact with my sister.
Took some photographs of merit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously, I haven't changed the world, but I do think it is worth our while to recognize our own achievements and none of the above would have happened without me putting in some effort. So, yay me!
Nice posting. Do you know about these yoga books?
